By accessing or using Pfotos, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Pfotos is a private photo organization and family-history platform that allows users to upload, organize, tag, and collaborate on photos and related information. Content is organized into private spaces ("PFarms") and may optionally be contributed to a shared public historical commons.
You agree to:
You retain full ownership of all content you upload. You grant Pfotos a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, display, and back up your content solely to operate the service on your behalf.
Pfotos does not claim ownership of your content. Pfotos does not use private content for advertising, training, or commercial resale.
You may choose to contribute information to a shared public commons. Public contributions may be visible to other users. Pfotos does not guarantee the accuracy of user-supplied data. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to share such information.
PFarms are private by default and access is controlled by you. Pfotos personnel do not access private content in the normal course of operation. Limited access may occur only at your request (support), to comply with valid legal obligations, or to investigate violations of law or platform safety. All such access is controlled and logged.
Pfotos uses industry-standard security practices to protect your data. Certain sensitive data may be protected using additional client-side encryption measures designed to limit unnecessary visibility and access.
You acknowledge that you are responsible for maintaining access to your account, and that loss of access to authentication credentials may affect access to certain protected data.

Accounts violating these rules may be suspended or terminated.
Pfotos may use face detection technology to assist with photo organization. It is used only within the app, is not sold or shared with third parties, and is not used for advertising or profiling. You may request deletion of biometric data at any time.
Pfotos uses automated tools (including Google Vision API SafeSearch and Microsoft PhotoDNA) to detect illegal or harmful content. Flagged content may be reviewed. Accounts may be suspended and reported where required by law.
Pfotos may display limited advertising based only on general geographic region. No behavioral tracking or profiling is used. No personal data is shared with advertisers. Private content is never used for advertising.
Pfotos requires valid legal process before disclosing user data. We challenge overbroad or invalid requests, notify users when legally permitted, do not build backdoors, and do not participate in mass surveillance.
Files uploaded to Pfotos are associated with your account and PFarm. In some cases, uploads may occur before being fully linked to a record. These files are not publicly accessible. Pfotos may remove unassociated or inactive files over time.
Some features require a paid subscription. Pricing and features are described in-app and may change with advance notice.
Beta features may change or be removed and are provided "as is."
You may terminate your account at any time. Pfotos may suspend or terminate accounts for violations of these Terms, legal requirements, or security concerns.
Pfotos is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pfotos is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, errors in user-generated content, or certain data loss scenarios.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, United States.
